Nienke is the founder of MOAI Design. She is an interior designer and creative strategist shaped by twenty years of living and working across Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore, New York, Geneva and The Hague. This international perspective informs every project.
She moves seamlessly between worlds, navigating high-end design, craftsmanship and discerning taste. Her strength lies in conceptual clarity and aesthetic precision, and the ability to translate vision into a refined design direction for private clients and the world’s leading houses.
MOAI embodies two meanings. In Frisian, the language of Nienke’s roots, MOAI means beautiful. In the Okinawan tradition of Japan, a moai is a circle of people united by trust, discretion and a shared vision. This philosophy is reflected in MOAI’s approach to every project. Nienke brings together an ecosystem of carefully selected partners, guiding the design process from a distinct vision with an eye for detail.
